MongoDB not fault tolerant…

Found this hilarious write up of MongoDB’s fault tolerance. More amusing were people (presumably from 10gen) agreeing in the comments but saying it was designed that way, and people are just using it wrong!…

My particularly favourite comment:-

“The guy is attacking mongodb because some people are using it wrong… Is that mongodb’s fault? I like to think of mongodb as a souped up memcache and other dumb in-memory key value stores. As such, you would never use it as a system of record.”

Reply: “When the MongoDB home page says this clearly, I am pretty sure the criticism will stop.”
